While pregnancy is a wonderful and magical time, there's also a fair amount of mess that goes along with the magic.

Morning sickness is one of the most well known and often discussed negative side effects of a pregnancy. In many cases, morning sickness is the messenger that allows women to find out they're pregnant.

Morning sickness  is a condition that impacts about half of all pregnant women, and is perhaps one of the more uncomfortable aspects of pregnancy. Morning sickness usually takes place in the early hours of the day (hence the name) and tapers off as the day progresses. Morning sickness is usually characterized by mild to severe nausea and vomiting.

Prior to conceiving a child, it's a good idea to get your body in good condition. Smoking and drinking can inhibit conception, and so can being significantly overweight. You're going to want to be healthy during your pregnancy in order to provide your baby with a healthy start in life, so now's the time to ditch bad habits and pick up good ones.

Caesarean section gaining in popularity, usage

A caesarean section is a surgical procedure in which a baby is removed from his or her mother's womb by a series of incisions in the mother's abdomen and uterus. The procedure is typically done in cases where a vaginal birth is deemed to be dangerous to the health of the mother or child, but in recent years it has been done upon request by mothers or at the suggestion of hospital staff. 
 
About 30 percent of all births in the United States are done via caesarean section, well above the World Health Organization's suggested rate of 15 percent. The rate of caesarean sections appears to be higher among higher income women.
